The difference between L & M Curl
L Curl has a sharper angle of 90 degrees, and a longer flat base. Depending on the brand your using, between 2-3mm. M Curl has more of a curved angle, less sharp, usually between 100-110 degrees. Also has a bit of a curvature at the tip
M(N) Curl and L Curl

Whether you're a seasoned professional or just beginning your eyelash career, you've undoubtedly heard of the two types of curl lashes. The L and M curl lashes are becoming increasingly popular in the eyelash industry, but how do you decide which is best for your client?
There’s a reason why we’re called lash artists. Although clients might have an opinion of what they think will look best on them, we as lash artists know there are so many factors to take into account, such as eye shape, personal style, and professional lash products. We have the client’s best interest at heart (and our own reputation!) so it’s vital that we take all of the above into consideration when we set out to create works of art.
One of the most important of these factors are lash curls. They really determine the final look of the lash set. As the lash extension industry grows, unique lash curl options are popping up everywhere, providing many more ways to diversify lash looks.

L CURL LASHES
This curl has a straight base that transitions and sits flatter on the client's natural lash. It is a perfect curl for monolid eyes and clients with very straight natural lashes. This curl will provide your clients with a stunning and appealing effect, and this curl has a large attachment area, which improves lash retention significantly.
Its angle, usually 90 degrees, distinguishes it from the other curls. The L curl's tip is sharper because it doesn't have any curvatures.
L curl lashes may appear intimidating due to their strong base, but this curl is effortless to work in reality.

M CURL LASHES
M or L+ curl is typically 100 to 110 degrees. It has more of a curve on the angle. The curl is less sharp and has a little more curvature inwards.
This curl is excellent to start with but go straight for the L curl if you are a bit riskier. I started with M curl and then moved to the L curl because that was just my comfort zone.
It's not for newbies who haven't mastered lash fanning, but it's perfect for seasoned lash artists looking to add some variety to their work.
Fan the M curl lashes in the same way you would a C or D curl, using your favorite fanning method. Remember that both CC and C curls look amazing with this M curl. For a softer, more subtle look, add CC curls in the inner corners.

WHICH CLIENTS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR L CURL AND WHICH FOR M CURL?
L CURL LASHES
The L curl, when done correctly, will draw attention to the client's eyes. With natural down and straight lashes, it looks like an open eye. The L curl lashes are ideal for people who have straight or pointing-down natural lashes. Applying the curl to a client's naturally curly lashes will appear unnatural, out of place, and odd.
This curl is perfect for working with clients who have downturned eyes. Because the L curl provides a lot of lifting effects, which are ideal for that eye shape, it emphasized and gave off a pleasant and subtle uplifting effect.
For almond eyes, you can use any curls and lengths as long as your client's natural lashes can handle it. L curl lashes are also suitable for almond-shaped eyes because they are not considered contraindicated
Using L curl makes it worst for clients with curly and unruly lashes (lashes are going in a different direction).
M CURL LASHES
If your client has downturned eyes and you want to give them a visible lift with the M curl, you'll be able to do it quickly. The M curl lashes are perfect for hiding sagging eyelids or lifting sad eyes/downturned eyes in the outer corner. It's important to remember that this curl complements the C and CC curls perfectly.
To find out what works best for you, experiment with different styles, lengths, and lash extension curls. Also, don't forget to establish friends with your clients. You are welcome to sit down with them and talk about their desires and provide a recommendation if they are unsure.
